Czech Firm Calls for Tenders to Build N-Plants at Home and Abroad PDF Print E-mail

Czech utility CEZ has launched a public tender for a contractor for two new reactors at its Temelin nuclear power plant with a view to build more units abroad. CEZ said that the exact type of reactors and their capacity would be determined during the tender process, but the units would be Generation III Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs).

Malaysia aims to use nuclear power as an alternative energy source by 2025, a government official said. Nuclear policy has got the go-ahead to be implemented and the government will link up with international organizations such as the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency, said Malaysia's Deputy Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Fadillah Yusof.
